Canada, UK, France to Israel: Cease Gaza Assault or Face Consequences

Published on

Canada, the United Kingdom, and France have jointly condemned Israel’s expanded military campaign in Gaza, warning they will not “stand by” as the humanitarian situation worsens. The leaders criticized Israel’s limited aid allowance as insufficient and said the suffering in Gaza was “intolerable.” They threatened “concrete actions,” including sanctions, if Israel does not end its offensive and lift aid restrictions. The statement also denounced new settlement activity in the West Bank, calling it illegal. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu, meanwhile, has vowed to take full control of Gaza, a move that has drawn further international alarm.
