Elon Musk’s leadership of the Trump-backed “Doge” department has resulted in what marketing expert Scott Galloway calls “the greatest brand destruction” for Tesla. On the Pivot podcast, Galloway explained that Musk has distanced Tesla from its core demographic, instead aligning with a political base largely uninterested in electric cars. Data shows Tesla’s reputation has crashed from 8th to 95th place, and sales in Europe have plummeted. Musk’s controversial political commentary on X has added to the woes. After a 71% profit decline, Musk says he’ll step back from Doge, citing mission accomplished.
