Trump Pushes for Ukraine Peace Deal Next Week as Details of 28-Point Plan Emerge

Published on

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly aiming for Ukraine to sign a peace agreement—drafted jointly by Washington and Moscow—by next weekend. The 28-point proposal, which Kyiv says heavily favors Russia’s demands, has sparked significant concern among Ukrainian and European officials.
The plan was prepared without Ukraine’s direct involvement and includes concessions such as reducing Ukraine’s military to 600,000 personnel and formally giving up control of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea. It also requires freezing the front line in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia and bars Ukraine from joining NATO. Russia, in return, would provide security guarantees, release all hostages, and commit to no future invasions. The proposal also includes rebuilding assistance for Ukraine and reintegrating Russia into the global economy, including lifting sanctions and restoring G8 membership.
Washington is reportedly pressing for President Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to the deal by November 27. Ukrainian officials describe the timeline as “aggressive,” stressing that several points cross their national “red lines.” Despite these concerns, Zelensky has agreed to engage in negotiations, stating that Ukraine will work with the U.S. team to ensure any agreement is “genuine and fair.” Direct talks between Zelensky and Trump are expected soon.
Ukraine continues to receive support from European leaders, who insist that the country’s future must be decided by Ukrainians themselves.
