Lindsey Graham Slams India, China Over Russian Oil as Kyiv Strike Kills 23

Published on

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham on Thursday strongly criticized India, China, Brazil, and other nations for continuing to purchase Russian oil, arguing that their actions are directly funding Moscow’s war against Ukraine.
“India, China, Brazil and others who prop up Putin’s war machine by buying cheap Russian oil: How do you feel right now that your purchases have resulted in innocent civilians, including children, being killed? India is experiencing the cost of supporting Putin. To the rest, you will soon too,” Graham wrote on social media.
The remarks came after Russia launched a deadly wave of missile and drone strikes on Kyiv early Thursday. At least 23 people, including civilians, were killed in the capital, according to city military chief Tymur Tkachenko. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, calling it the second-largest strike on Kyiv since the war began in February 2022 and describing it as Moscow’s answer to peace efforts.
Zelensky said residential areas, civilian trains, and even foreign offices were hit, with damage reported at the Azerbaijan embassy and a Turkish business. The European Union and Britain summoned Russian envoys in protest of the strikes.
